Time for a change
The Mid-South Search & Rescue Dog Association (MSSARDA) is a non-profit organization that had been utilizing Google’s free G sites for their website for many years. Since Google was moving the site into another format the group felt it was a good time to review their website and goals. As a result the decision was made to move on and expand the website to include additional features.
Several improvements were needed
- Explain who is MSSARDA, what they do, and services they provide.
- Emergency contact information must be easily seen/found.
- Be found in online searches, improve SEO and remove deadlinks.
- Update content.
- Navigation improvements-make it user friendly.
- Keep online training calendar.
- Provide information – how to volunteer with group.
- Promote their educational presentations/demos.
- Mobile friendly website is a must.
- Attractive design.
- Latest news section.
Silver Cricket Designs offers website solution
Rhonda worked with the client to address their needs and goals. The navigation menu now guides the visitor through discovering who is MSSARDA, what MSSARDA does, how they work with first responders and educate the community about their services and K9 teams. The team’s mission statement is also showcased. There’s room for growth in the News section and ability to add videos in the future.
Since MSSARDA works with first responders and can be called out at any time the phone numbers are placed prominently at the top and bottom of the website. It was also important to have the K9 team’s resources and capabilities clearly stated and easily found. These two sections are easily found on the main navigation and in the body of the home page.
Although the website had an overhaul we kept the parts that were working, such as the training calendar and the contact form.
Additions to the website
During the redesign process the content was updated and several new pages were added. These additions provide more information about the group, from Giving Honor to those who served in the past to providing a Frequently Asked Questions page. There’s also the addition of offering their promotional brochures for downloading. The mobile friendly, modern design gives an accurate description this nonprofit group.
