How can a service business stay in touch with their customers?
Postcards are an excellent option for reaching out to residential home owners, and the ROI has been quick and worth the investment! Sending a reminder postcard places your company in front of your target audience and provides value to your audience.
Case Study – Reminder Postcards custom designed
Allgood Sewer and Septic Tank Service provides several services to their customers. Loyal and repeat customers are very important. However, their services are not needed weekly or monthly. So the challenge was how to to provide value and stay in touch when the elapsed time since initial service is 1 to 3 years later?
The Reminder Service Program was born
This free service meets the goals of the company, by sending a postcard reminder to the customer when their home’s system needs to be maintenanced or a product reordered. Allgood keeps records of their customers in a database so they can generate reports and mail out the postcard approximately one month before their due.
Email vs Snail Mail
Why don’t they email their customer? Well, not everyone will provide the information. If email is provided, a reminder is emailed, otherwise the postcard comes to the homeowner through USPS. In addition, in the current housing market the postcards can be addressed to the homeowner or current resident, which will still provide a valuable service to the new owner.
Postcard Custom Design and Printing
Silver Cricket Designs created two unique custom postcards. The design for Postcard 1 also tackled another client need of home owner education. Regular maintenance is important for many reasons, so the 4 photos on the design are illustrating “maintenance” in other areas of life.

Postcard 1 also combines several reminders into one postcard as seen on the back. By checking a box or two, and filling in the last date of service the homeowner can easily see what is needed and schedule an appointment or reorder product online.

Product Reorder Postcard
Postcard 2 is focused on a reorder reminder. The product is due to run out so this postcard is sent out one month before the expected run-out date.
The custom design uses humor with a cute dog and alarm clock customized with the client’s logo.
These two reminder postcards have given the client a high return on investment and provided value to their customers. Once the designs were approved we handled the printing and delivered the final product to Allgood.
