How do I update or change the widget in my WordPress Site?
Sometimes learning how to update your own website feels overwhelming and although you could pay someone else to do it, why if all you need to do is change one area? So you had your web designer show you some simple updates but now you are confused. Here’s a common question I receive, “how do I update that one section on my home page?”
That one section is actually called a widget. So for this how-to we’ll look at changing the “Services” on my home page.
You must be logged in as administrator to change the widgets.
Once logged into WordPress Dashboard, look to the left side; you may need to scroll down. Look for Appearances > Widgets
Now, you’ll see Available Widgets. You must be somewhat familiar with your theme and your widgets so you can locate the area you wish to change.
The widget I want to change is located in the Front Page 1 section. So I click on the down arrow to open and find the Text widget with the title of Services.
Click the down arrow to open and make changes and SAVE.
Check your work on your website. You may need to refresh your browser to see your changes.
